How do you become a medic in the SAS, and what is different to the job of a regular army medic?

Do you have to have served in the army for a certain amount of time, and if so, for how long? Also, if you are an army medic and you apply to the SAS, are you trained as an SAS medic? What characteristics or qualifications are most desirable in an SAS medic?
