Will Boeing make an aircraft to compete in size with the A380?

most likely not they will continue to make the 747 because it is a big seller and they have recouped the design and development costs on that beastie a long time ago, now they only tweak the design. Boeing has a lot of money tied up in the dreamliner and they know that the first jumbo out on the market has been the only one to survive. They had the 747 out first but who remembers the other jumbo aircraft now and they are long gone but the 747 soldiers on.
