Why is the govt. bailing out those who have purchased beyond their means?

I do not mind helping someone out with my tax dollars if they have lost their job or it is a needy family, an elerderly person or a family who has tried to live within their means. But, there are lots of individuals who have purchased houses that are totally out of their means and now we the tax payer are bailing them out. I know of a family right now who closed on a $350,000 house and their income is around $60,000! My husband and I have always lived below our means and I would also love to have a fancy big house for my family. I do not know about you but I am very resentful of these people who are living in these fancy houses and expect us to bail them out.
