What sci-fi/fantasy series should I read next?

Get your hands on the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. I promise that they are not Twilight ripoffs and despite not-so-pretty covers and back covers that make the series sound like a soap opera at times, this series is absolutely fantastic. Plow your way through the first book and it only gets better from there. The best part? If you really like it, you won't have to impatiently wait for the next book in the series to come out. The last book gets released this upcoming Tuesday, so the series will complete! Then there will be a spinoff that comes out next year, most likely.
