Why do so many people prefer the yolk of a hard boiled egg, and not the white?

So, I was making hard boiled to eggs, my mom wanted the yolks, so I sai why not, but I ate the whites, and she looked at me funny. I love the whites.WHy don't people prefer the yolks to whites?
